Racing For Paws

Our 501c will not be a physical rescue or shelter facility, Racing for Paws will focus its efforts on directly serving the public, their pets, local rescues, and strays throughout Baja California.

Our team will work closely with other shelter and rescue organizations as well as collaborate with local Veterinarians and communities to address cases such as feral cat colonies and animals that need Veterinary care and medical treatment.

We will provide necessary spay and neuter services for stray and feral animals and for companion animals whose owners are low income.

I have witnessed firsthand the emotional and financial impact that a program like Racing for Paws will provide the community and animals of Cabo San Lucas.

We will provide vital services that can transform a community by catering to underserved populations and by granting these individuals the peace of mind that both companion and stray animals alike will be kept safe and healthy.

We Will Provide:

Aggressive Spay/Neuter Program

Offer financial support to help fund low-cost spay & neuter surgeries for cats and dogs to reduce unnecessary suffering, illness, surrender or euthanasia of both stray and companion animals. Spay & neuter intervention will prevent dog and cat overpopulation, thereby avoiding placing these animals in already overcrowded local animal shelters and/or being euthanized.

Where I think we could make the MOST impact is the spay and neuter clinic.  This program is hosted by the Veterinary University in La Paz.  Veterinarians will come to Cabo and spay and neuter 200 pets in one day.  This Spay and Neuter Clinic is $2,500 for 200 dogs and cats.  (which breaks down to $12.50 per animal sterilized)

Urgent Care / Advanced Procedures Program

Provides cost-sharing assistance to struggling pet owners for one-time urgent medical procedures for their companion animals. This program will be especially crucial for the local Baja community, who are usually living on a fixed income and often whose sole source of companionship is their pet(s). This same benefit applies to homeless individuals who are closely connected with their companion animals but are struggling to survive.

Compassionate TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) Program

Best practice method developed to address free-roaming local feral cat colonies. Implemented to ensure humane treatment of animals, reduce diseases and injuries, control animal overpopulation, and promote health through wellness checks and vaccinations.

$15 helps fund flea treatment for one animal

$17.00 helps fund vaccines (rabies and distemper) for one animal

$34.00 helps fund vaccines (rabies and distemper) for two animals

$35.00 helps fund a neuter surgery for one feline male.  Antibiotic injection and ear notching included.

$35.00 helps fund a spay surgery for one feline female.  Antibiotic Injection and ear notching included.

$35.00 helps fund a neuter surgery for one canine male.  Antibiotic injection included.

$35.00 helps fund a spay surgery for one canine female.  Antibiotic injection included.

$25.00 helps to feed 10-15 animals for 14 days.

$70.00 per day to hospitalize and treat a puppy for Parvo.  I personally had 3 puppies that had parvo.  I treated all 3, they all were hospitalized for 1 day.  All 3 puppies lived and are spayed ,and in excellent homes now and thriving.
